Reaching the terminals with luggage and children
The Hilton is a walk under cover from both terminals. Bus 635 serves the Novotel and ibis Styles, and ibis Styles is also near Besucherpark S-Bahn station. NH (10 euros per person per trip), Atomis (7 to 9 euros), Moxy (10 euros return) and Flightgate (12 euros one way) run paid shuttles. The Premier Inns and the ibis budget have no shuttle. The airport lends free buggies that can be taken to the gate. Routes and fares are in our transfer guide.
Family facilities in the terminals
Munich Airport lists seven play areas, open 24 hours: Munich Airport Center Level 03; Terminal 1 at A (Level 04), B and C (Level 03); and Terminal 2 at gates G and H (Level 04) and K and L (Levels 04 and 05). Baby-changing rooms are in Terminal 1 (Level 04, before security and in Module C) and the Munich Airport Center (Level 03), and every accessible toilet in both terminals has a fold-down changing table. There are family check-in zones, a family lane at Terminal 2 security, and free hot water for baby bottles in many cafés. For rest during a long layover, see our day rooms guide.
The Visitors Park
Take the S1 or S8 one stop to Besucherpark and walk about 800 metres (10 to 15 minutes), or take bus 635 to the Besucherpark stop. The 28-metre viewing hill costs 1 euro and has no step-free access for buggies or wheelchairs. The adventure playground is free, mini golf costs 3 euros for children up to 12 and 4.50 euros for adults, the exhibition is free daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Tante Ju’s restaurant has a children’s menu. The historic aircraft are closed for renovation.
